AIEQ welcomes the announcement of Hydro-Québec's 2022-2026 strategic plan

March 24, 2022 - The Association de l'industrie électrique du Québec (AIEQ) welcomes the announcement of Hydro-Québec's Strategic Plan 2022-2026. This ambitious plan, which has been the subject of extensive consultation with all the socio-economic stakeholders concerned, heralds a very promising new era for Quebec's electricity industry. The AIEQ recognizes that this plan proposes an efficient use of energy, while advocating the development of renewable resources - an additional 100 terawatt-hours of electricity by 2050 - and of Quebec's electrical infrastructure, to ensure the availability of electricity in line with the imperatives of the energy transition.

Quebec's electricity industry will certainly be able to contribute to the success of this plan, which responds well to the challenges of decarbonizing Quebec's economy.
