Welcome help to extend the reach and influence of the Québec electrical industry's supply chain

May 4, 2022 - The Association de l'industrie électrique du Québec (AIEQ) is delighted with the announcement by the Ministère de l'Économie et de l'Innovation of $5 million in financial assistance to implement the Strategic Electricity Supply Project for Quebec (PASQÉ).

This initiative, which aims to increase the competitiveness of Quebec suppliers to the electrical industry in order to secure the supply chain and promote local economic spin-offs, is in line with the government's strategy of electrifying its economy, an important key to facilitating the energy transition.

The AIEQ considers the timing of this announcement to be particularly appropriate. This world-class ecosystem is important to support Hydro-Québec's ambitions to modernize its infrastructure in order to increase its capacity to generate, transmit and deliver electricity from renewable sources, which will be in great demand over the coming decades.
