Laval, February 3, 2025 - Filgo, Quebec's leading energy transmission and distribution company, today inaugurates the very first ABB E-mobility A400 charging station for electric vehicles in Quebec. This charging station is capable of delivering the highest power available to date in this province on a single charging gun, i.e. 400 kW. It redefines fast-charging standards, and is now available at the Filgo-Shell Marcel-Villeneuve station.

This breakthrough reinforces the strategic partnership between Filgo and ABB E-mobility to provide ultra-fast, innovative and reliable recharging solutions, while accelerating the transition to electric mobility.

This deployment was made possible thanks to the collaboration of key partners for Filgo, including ABB E-mobilité, the Laval Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCILaval), the Association de l'industrie électrique du Québec (AIEQ), and Malco Électrique.
"Filgo is accelerating the expansion of its network of fast-charging stations across Quebec, transforming its stations into multi-energy hubs offering a variety of clean, sustainable energies. Our collaboration with ABB E-Mobility is part of our commitment to offer innovative fast-charging solutions. The inauguration of the very first A400 charging station in Quebec at one of our stations sets a new benchmark in terms of power and charging experience. Beyond our network, we offer turnkey charging solutions for light vehicles and trucks, playing a catalytic role in the energy transition. Our customers and partners deserve the very best, and this breakthrough illustrates our commitment to providing them with the very best technologies. This is just the beginning!" - Wassim Kanso, Senior Director, Energy Transition at Filgo.
"Deploying the A400 charging station and offering the most advanced and reliable charging solution is the first step in a long-term collaboration with Filgo. Together, we are prioritizing innovation and delivering tangible improvements to Quebec motorists", - Brandt Hastings, President of ABB E-mobility for North America.

"To decarbonize Quebec's transportation sector, we need a high-performance network of charging stations. It's by having infrastructures like this one that we'll be able to pursue the electrification of our transportation, a key element in our energy transition objectives." - Christopher Skeete, Minister for the Economy and Innovation, Minister Responsible for the Fight Against Racism, Minister Responsible for the Laval Region and MNA for Sainte-Rose.

"The installation of the A400 terminal in Laval is an outstanding example of successful collaboration between economic players and technology leaders to offer innovative solutions to citizens and businesses. This project perfectly illustrates the importance of working together to achieve our 'Vision Zero Waste 2040' and build a greener, more resilient local economy, while positioning Laval as a leader in sustainable and profitable transition." - Caroline De Guire, President and CEO of CCILaval.

Customer benefits
The A400 kiosk is designed for intuitive customer use. The 32-inch screen and interface guide motorists from their arrival at the kiosk to the end of their charging session. The technology used for the interface guarantees smooth operation, even in bad weather.

The power supply modules developed by ABBE-mobilité enable more powerful charging sessions to be carried out in a more compact unit, making them ideal for deployment in service stations where space is often at a premium. Customers benefit from fast charging speeds of up to 400 kW while charging a single vehicle. For users, it's a top-of-the-range charging experience all down the line.

The installation of the A400 charging station in Laval demonstrates Filgo's commitment to advancing electrification and to being a key player in the energy transition in Quebec and Eastern Canada. Today's installation of the A400 terminal is part of this vision.
