Hydro-Québec's Action Plan 2035 projects, investments by various other producers and distributors, including Énergir, and the arrival of battery factories are creating business needs and opportunities. This context will benefit suppliers of materials, parts, products and technological services, including artificial intelligence services, as well as other energy producers who can supply Hydro-Québec.

These suppliers have to deal with customers who are decarbonizing their supply chain, including generators and distributors, and who are putting pressure on their suppliers to also have decarbonization plans, such as conversion to cleaner energies. The result is a race between development projects and decarbonization plans to gain access to blocks of electricity of 5 megawatts or more.

Sufficient availability of blocks for all projects and other energy options for companies unable to obtain blocks in turn creates needs and opportunities in the market. For example, independent power production creates legislative expectations for self-generation, micro-generation, micro-grids, stand-alone grids and business-to-business sales, and thus even more business opportunities.

Our 12th Avenir Energie conference will shed light on the interdependence of needs and opportunities, and debate government decisions on production, distribution and consumption, including the criteria for allocating blocks. The effects of tariffs on production and consumption decisions will also be explored.
