Playing a mobilizing role

At a time when our economic sector is facing a labor shortage, the AIEQ is putting in place tools to raise the profile of Quebec's electrical industry among students, women and people from diverse backgrounds.

In collaboration with Élexpertise, the AIEQ is currently developing a study that will shed light on our industry's workforce needs. In addition to mapping these needs, the study will also address the issue of retention and game plans for companies to keep their employees. It will also present the new trades that will need to be filled over the next few years in connection with the energy transition. The study will also look at shortage issues by geographic region.

The New Talent, Diversity and Inclusion Committee

The AIEQ's Succession, Diversity, Inclusion and Talent Committee discusses workforce issues within our ecosystem. It also discusses initiatives to promote Quebec's electrical industry trades to women, immigrants and engineering and engineering technology students. It's essential to showcase this world-class ecosystem to these clienteles.

This year, the committee invited several workforce professionals to present human resources issues.

The members of this committee played an active role in the AIEQ's workforce study, which will soon be published. We thank them for their participation and commitment to the AIEQ!
